MAIN KEY FUNCTION:
Each key (or key combination) has a first function which is activated by pressing and releasing the key(s). These primary functions are as follows:
“1” KEY — move back one verse.
“2” KEY — start or stop continuous reading.
“3” KEY — move forward one verse.
“4” KEY — move back one chapter.
“5” KEY — read next sentence (works when continuous reading is off).
“6” KEY — move forward one chapter.
“7” KEY — move back one book.
“8” KEY — read previous sentence (works when continuous reading is off).
“9” KEY — move forward one book.
“0” KEY — select Volume, Speed, Voice, Pitch, Sleep-timer, or footnote parameter.
“*” (star) KEY — lower the selected parameter one step.
“#” (number) KEY — raise the selected parameter one step.
NOTE: Only the “volume” and “speed” can be changed with continuous reading on.

SECOND KEY FUNCTION:
Each key (or key combination) has a second function which is activated by holding the key(s) down until a single beep is heard. These second or “power” functions are as follows:
“1” KEY — move back by verses half way toward the beginning of the current chapter.
“2” KEY — reads the current verse (works when continuous reading is off).
“3” KEY — move forward by verses half way toward the end of the current chapter.
“4” KEY — move back by chapters half way toward the beginning of the current book.
“5” KEY — reads the next verse (works when continuous reading is off).
“6” KEY — move forward by chapters half way toward the end of the current book.
“7” KEY — move back by books half way toward the beginning of the Bible.
“8” KEY — read previous verse (works when continuous reading is off).
“9” KEY — move forward by books half way toward the end of the Bible.
“0” KEY — set or remove a bookmark at the current verse.
“*” (star) KEY — move to previous bookmark.
“#” (number) KEY — move to next bookmark.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
LOCK OR UNLOCK THE BIBLE — Pressing the “1” and “3” keys together will “Lock” or “Unlock” the Bible. The Bible must be unlocked for the keys to perform their functions.
CHECK BATTERY STATUS – Pressing the “7” and “9” keys together will give a battery status. BibleCourier will announce “Batteries are full” if more than 80% of battery life is remaining, “Batteries are moderate” with between 80% and 20% of battery life is remaining and “Batteries are low” if less than 20% of battery life remaining.
HELP FOR ANY KEY — to receive help for any key (or key combination) while continuous reading is off just hold down the key (or keys) until two beeps are heard. Release the key to hear a description of all of its functions.
RESTORING DEFAULT SETTINGS — The restore function resets all the BibleCourier preferences to their default values. To activate this function, stop BibleCourier and then simultaneously press the star and pound keys. The BibleCourier says, “Ready”. You can also perform the restore function when BibleCourier is locked
